TACKLE FOOTBALL
CWJRD is excited to offer tackle football this year!
Our goal is to continue running youth football and cheerleading to a high standard that aligns with our high school program to set up our young athletes for success at the next level! We have some exciting ideas for the upcoming season, including playing at least one game on the turf field at Mike Locke Stadium! Players can expect to practice 4 days a week with games mostly on Sundays. We do not recommend any additional registrations when participating in tackle football.
Grades: 1st-6th grade (2026/2027 school year)
CWJRD Provided Equipment: Helmet with soft chinstrap, shoulder pads, uniform consisting of game jersey and integrated game pants
Player Provided Equipment: mouthpiece, cleats, practice pants (integrated/with pads), practice jersey. Players are able to utilize old game pants/jerseys in place of purchasing practice pants/jersey. Hard cup chin straps, shoulder pad back plates, and visors are all optional. *If you elect to add a visor to the helmet, it must be clear.
Player Registration: April 15- May 25
Fitting Days: Week of May 27, Date TBD
Optional conditioning begins: Mid July
Mandatory practices begin: Late July
Games begin: Mid-August
Games end: Mid-Late October (depending on playoff success)
