
YOUTH BASEBALL
Baseball is offered from age 5 to 8th grade in the Spring and Fall. U8-U12 Teams play in the Mid-State Youth Baseball League (MSYBL) and compete against teams from Amanda, Baltimore, Bloom-Carroll, Fairfield Union, Lancaster, Millersport and Sugar Grove.
Pony division competes in the SouthEastern Baseball League against teams from Bloom Carroll, Gahanna, Groveport, Lancaster, and Licking Heights.

Bally Sports Little Sluggers
Little Sluggers T-Ball
Bally Sports Group’s Little Sluggers is a great introduction to the game of baseball for young children ages 3-4. Using age-appropriate activities, players will be introduced to fundamentals of baseball in an atmosphere that is supportive, fun, and encouraging. Each week, the program will include an instructional portion that will introduce players to batting, base running, fielding, throwing, and catching. A modified game will also be played each week. Parent participation is welcomed, but Bally Sports staff will lead the program. The Little Sluggers T-Ball Program will provide your child with a fun and positive t-ball experience that will encourage continued participation in the sport! All players are required to have their own baseball glove. Pants, cleats and other equipment is optional for our program. All participants receive a team shirt and hat.
Minor League Coach Pitch
Bally Sports’ Minor League Baseball is an introduction to coach-pitch baseball for beginning baseball players. The program utilizes instruction in including batting, fielding, throwing, and catching. The program will also include a modified, non-competitive game each week. Bally Sports’ staff will lead each team’s instruction, although parent participation is strongly encouraged. Bally Sports strives to emphasize the importance of great sportsmanship by creating an encouraging atmosphere that helps players build self-esteem and encourage future participation!
DIVISIONS
T-BALL
T-Ball is a co-ed division for ages 5-6 years old (as of April 30).
*CWJRD partners with Bally Sports to offer a Little Sluggers program for 3-4 year olds
*6 year old players can choose to "play up" to Coach Pitch but will be evaluated prior to Spring season.
Coaches will work on fundamentals of throwing, fielding, and hitting as well as understanding basic rules game-play.
Players receive 3 pitches from a coach before hitting off of a tee in an effort to prepare them for coach pitch.
Practices are 1-2 times per week (no set days). Games are played on Saturday mornings for beginning of the season and will add in an additional weeknight game after Memorial Day.
COACH PITCH
Coach Pitch is for ages 7-8 years old (as of April 30).
*6 year old players can choose to "play up" to Coach Pitch but will be evaluated prior to Spring season.
Coach Pitch level plays at 60' bases and a 40' pitching mound (coaches must pitch at least 35' away). Players will receive up to 7 pitches from a coach, but only receive 3 swings/strikes.
Games are played on both weekdays and Saturday mornings throughout the season.
Bats must be USA Baseball approved (no USSSA bats). Players on a travel baseball roster are ineligible for Spring MSYBL play.
MINORS
Minors is for ages 9-10 years old (as of April 30).
Minors level play at 60' bases and 46' pitching mound and is the first level for kids to pitch in games.
Base runners can steal bases after the ball crosses the plate.
Games are played on both weekdays and Saturday mornings throughout the season.
Bats must be USA Baseball approved (no USSSA bats). Players on a travel baseball roster are ineligible for Spring
MSYBL play.
MAJORS
Majors is for ages 11-12 years old (as of April 30).
Majors level play at 70' base lengths and 50' pitching mound.
Base runners can lead off and steal bases at any time.
Games are played on both weekdays and Saturday mornings throughout the season.
Bats must be USA Baseball approved (no USSSA bats). Players on a travel baseball roster are ineligible for Spring MSYBL play.
PONY
Pony is for 7th and 8th graders.
Pony level play at 90' base lengths and 60' 6" pitching mound.
Players participating in middle school baseball cannot participate on a Pony team until after their school season has ended.
Pony games begin in late May and will have a condensed season with games played on weekdays and weekends (double headers).
FALL BASEBALL
Fall Baseball is offered as a developmental league to allow players additional opportunities to develop skills and understanding of baseball. Fall Baseball is only offered for Coach Pitch, Minors, and Majors and will participate in the MSYBL.
This season is an opportunity for players moving up to another division the following Spring to try out the older age division. For example: An 8 year old played Coach Pitch in the Spring, but will move up to Minors the following Spring. This 8 year old is eligible for Fall Baseball at Minors level. If you are NOT moving up to an older division next Spring, you would sign-up for the appropriate age group. For example, A 7 year old played Coach Pitch in the Spring, and will still be in Coach Pitch the following Spring. This 7 year old would sign-up for Coach Pitch.
