YOUTH SOCCER

Soccer is offered from ages 4.5 to 14 in the Spring and Fall.

U6 practices and games are played at McGill Park against other CWJRD teams.

U8 practices will be held at McGill Park. *New this fall U8 teams will play at McGill Park, Alt Park (Liberty Union) and Roller Field (Bloom Carroll).

U10 practices at McGill Park or CWMS depending on file availability and field conditions. Practices weekly as determined by the head coach. Games will be held on Saturdays with potential other days as needed for makeups at McGill Park, Roller Field and Alt Park.

U12 practices at McGill Park or CWMS depending on filed availability and field conditions. Practices weekly as determined by the head coach. Games will be held at McGill Park or Alt Park. If there are not enough teams in the league with Liberty Union, CWJRD may join with the CESA league that plays at Pathway Parks.

U14 Soccer will participate in the Middle School Soccer Association (MSSA) league. 7th and 8th Grade boys and girls soccer is open to any 7th and 8th grader regardless of their birthday. MSSA is a middle school league, therefore they are not restricted to birthday, as long as the athlete is in middle school.

U18**

New to CWJRD Soccer this Spring, U18 Co-Rec. U18 will participate in the High School Soccer Association (HSSA) league and be made up of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade players who have not reached age 19 prior to the first practice. All teams in HSSA are co-rec (boys and girls) with a requirement to have at least three (3) girls on the field at all times.

DIVISIONS

U6

U6 Soccer will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at McGill Park. Make-up games will be on Saturdays.

Teams will be co-ed format unless we have enough of each gender to have at least 4 teams for boys and girls.

Players must provide their own size 3 soccer ball, shin guards and soccer cleats.

U8

U8 Soccer will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays at McGill Park. Make-up games will be on Saturdays.

Players must provide their own size 3 soccer ball, shin guards and soccer cleats.

U10-U12

U10-U12 Soccer practices at McGill Park or Middle School depending on field availability and field conditions.

Schedules are set by the head coach, typically two nights a week.

Games will be held at Roller Field with the possibility of the league using Alt Park (Liberty Union) and McGill Park (CWJRD).

Players must provide their own size 4 soccer ball, shin guards and soccer cleats.

U14

Girls Games are typically every Wednesday and Saturday and the Co-Rec Team every Thursday and Saturday at McGill Park or the Middle School and away games are around the central Ohio area.

U18

U18 will participate in the High School Soccer Association (HSSA) league and be made up of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade players who have not reached age 19 prior to August 1st.

All teams in HSSA are co-rec (boys and girls) with a requirement to have at least three (3) girls on the field at all times.

*To form a U18 Co-Rec team for the fall season, we will need a minimum of 14 participants. Players MAY NOT play on their high school team, a select team or club team at the same time they are playing on an HSSA team.

Bally Sports Mini Soccer Stars

U4 Soccer

Bally Sports Group leads an age-appropriate program for 3-4 year olds that utilizes fun games and activities to teach the fundamentals to beginning soccer players. Coaches focus on teaching the basics of dribbling, passing, scoring, and the concept of game play. Proper sportsmanship is emphasized in a positive and encouraging atmosphere enabling children to enjoy learning soccer while also having fun being physically active. Each week will include both developmentally appropriate instruction as well as recreational, non-competitive game play. Players will need a size 3 soccer ball and shin guards. Cleats are optional. Bally Sports Group will provide a team t-shirt.
