Welcome to the 2019 CWJRD Football Season.
When considering registration with are program we’d like to advise all parents and participants of the following. Football is different then most of our other rec sports. This is one of the few where practice time is greater than game time throughout the season. Practice is the time for development, as players learn much more in practice than a handful of plays in a game. Playing time will be at the coach's discretion and will be based on factors such as readiness, attendance, effort, attention, and understanding of the game. It will not be guaranteed. Coaches need to be able to make playing time decisions in the best interest of safety for the kids.
For the 2019 season, the CWJRD will remain in the Mid State League. All home games are played at the CW Middle School Field and we travel to the other schools for away games. All practices are held at the football fields behind Indian Trail Elementary.
A parent/guardian must accompany their child at all times throughout camps/practices/games. No drop offs are allowed.
MANDATORY FOOTBALL FITTING DATES:
You are REQUIRED to ATTEND. Please bring your child's birth certificate and last grade card received. The Fitting will be at the Canal Winchester Town Hall at 10 N High St.
Saturday April, 27th, 2019 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM.
**Participant MUST have registration complete and ALL required paperwork turned in to be fitted and assigned a number.**
**Parents ALL players WILL need to bring their birth certificates and grade cards for the 2019 season!!**

2019 YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP INFORMATION
2019 Head Football Coaches: 2019 Football Coaches will be announced in the near future.
Our head coaches have shown knowledge of the game, continued commitment to all facets of the program and training of our youth, and most importantly the safety of our players.
All of our coaches at every level will carry a concussion training certification, are trained in proper fit and wear of equipment, and participate in continuing education toward safe tackling procedures and drill instruction.
BASELINE CONCUSSION TESTING
This testing is required for any player who is 10 years of age or will be 10 by July 1st and did not receive the baseline testing last year.
Testing costs are covered by CWJRD.
The testing date TBD in the computer lab at the Canal Winchester High School. Athletes must arrive before 7:15 PM to be tested by 7:30 PM. The deadline to register for the testing is

- For school on the dropdown section you need to select Canal Winchester middle/high (its the only option for Canal)
- For league you must choose Canal Winchester Joint Recreation otherwise you will not show up on the correct test lists.
- If you do not show up on the scheduled date it will be the parents responsibility to make appt and pay for the concussion test-mandatory to play football.
- Tests are good for 2 years.
