• Coaches will make every effort to give each girl equal playing time.
   
• We will not be having up or down refs. One coach from each team is to position themselves on each side of the court and will serve as referees.
   
• Each girl in 4/5 will be given two chances to serve the ball (in bounds) over the net.

• If she is successful on any of her serves the point is played out.

• If unsuccessful, she gets another serve that if in bounds, is played to point. She continues to serve until a sideout occurs.

NOTE: 4/5 can move up the serving line to mid-way between the 10 ft. line and the back of the court.

• Each girl in 6/7 will be given 2 chances to successfully serve the ball (in bounds) over the nets. If she is successful on either of her 2 serves, the point is played out.

• If unsuccessful, she’ll try again (2^nd serve) & played to point.

• She continues to serve until a sideout occurs.

NOTE: We may move the serving line up a little bit for this group but we’ll see how it goes.

• If the player is unsuccessful in her serves, the coach for the serving team whom is (also refereeing) will toss a ball over the net for the opponents to play.  Regardless of the outcome of this play, (whether the serving team scores off this or the defense gets a sideout); the serve switches to the other team.
   
• Coaches on the bench should keep the girls focused on what’s happening on the court as well as tracking playing time and explaining things as they occur to the remaining players.
   
• Coaches who are refereeing should feel free to stop the game after play occurs (not during a play of a point) to provide instruction to players on the court to help them improve.
   
• RALLY SCORING – This year we’ll score a point for each volley. Every serve potentially is a point for some team. We’ll play to 25 points and you need to win by 2 points. We’ll play a minimum of 1 match (3 games) and more if time allows.
   
• If you have any problems with parents, etc. please let me know the situation. Most complaints in this sport stems from inequality in playing times so keep it as equal as possible.
   
• REMEMBER: Our GOAL is for our volleyball to be both FUN & Instructional. While we want the girls to learn, we don’t want them to feel it’s intensely competitive.
